Talked to Bev The Other Day...

前几天我与黑贝私下进行了一次交流

Not sure if he's angry with things that are going on with the franchise considering the abysmal, underachieving season we just had. But I work with somebody who knows his uncle, and we met Bev & his uncle the other day playing Dominos and I asked him how he and the Rockets are doing.

不确定他是否对窝火这个糟糕和失望的赛季感到愤怒，但是我的一个同事认识他的叔叔，前几天我们偶遇了他们，黑贝和他叔叔当时正在吃披萨，然后我问他和球队最近的情况怎么样？

回复：I don't see why, I think it would be ideal for both to be moved to back up positions, I mean with the cap increase both are on backup role player contracts anyways. Both stretch the floor and play defense, why not keep3&D players on fair contracts for depth?

回复：You just said why. They are backup players on a great team. But unfortunately for us they represent about half the players we have on the roster that have some positive trade value. Bev, Ariza, Capela, Harrell, and DMo are about the only guys we can trade for at value without taking back long term salary or including an asset on our end to move them. And their trade value will decay into the next season as they move towards expiring contact status while aging past 30.

We're probably getting Conley? I think Bev believes he has earned the starting pg position and doesn't like the fact that the Rockets are constantly looking for his replacement at the starting position. We are at win now at all means necessary. If bev wants out and we get Conley then I'll take it.

Some people can't read. Anyways thanks for sharing op. I won't believe you 100 percent, but I do see Beverley feeling that way about the team and his situation. Beverley has a ok contract and would be a good backup on a team.

Good, I hope he does leave. He's a low IQ player and we already have too many of those on this team. He doesn't even guard anybody anymore, his only "defense" is to annoy people... which hardly works btw.

I don't get it though, like others have mentioned it would be weird for him to know unless he's getting traded like tomorrow. No trades are guaranteed months ahead of time, and with free agency being such a big uncertainty why in the world would the team tell him he is gone?

About damn time. He was the worst starting PG in the league the last couple seasons. Can't dribble, can't create, can't pass, can't drive, no vision, overrated D, zero creativity, when his 3 is off which is often since he's no marksmen he's virtually worthless. Oh and to top it all off he's very injury prone and seems to get hurt in the most critical times.

Sounds harsh but it's true. Nothing against Bev and I salute him for making it his far with a severely limited skill-set and natural talent but hard work only takes you so far. Wish we could keep him as a backup at 10-15 mpg but this move will be for the better.

I don't doubt that he thinks he is gone this Summer, but from a fan perspective we know he's under contract till 2019, and Morey won't move him if the deal isn't right.

That being said, in exit interviews after they were eliminated, Morey probably was pretty clear with everyone except for Harden that prepare for the roster to see major change. We love you but don't take it personally when your traded this Summer.

So this isn't shocking at all to hear him say although he has no control over that at all and as fans we have to assume this is the roster we have to judge the team by. Can't make assumptions.

Yeah but come on, he's not opting in...but anyway, let's assume he's opting out...how possible is a scenario where we sign three max players? Is there a single chance that if we put ourselves in the position to sign three guys to form a big 4 team they'll be ok in taking a small paycut to make it work without gutting the roster?
